United Airlines to launch Hong Kong - Los Angeles service

United Airlines is to increase the number of flights it operates from Hong Kong with the launch of a new daily passenger and cargo flight between Hong Kong and Los Angeles. The new service will commence on October 29, 2007.

The Hong Kong Los Angeles route expands Uniteds breadth of service from Asia, providing United customers in Hong Kong, Southern China, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore with a second gateway in California, said Mark Schwab, vice president Pacific, United Airlines. The Hong Kong - Los Angeles service also creates significant new revenue opportunities for the airline.

United will operate the Hong Kong Los Angeles service using a Boeing B747-400 aircraft configured with 14 United First seats, 73 United Business seats and 260 United Economy seats, including 88 Economy Plus seats.
