Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Tuesday, 9 October 2007

Tickets for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens are now on sale, with organizers encouraging fans to purchase their tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The event, which is in its 38th year and is once again the opening leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, has sold out for the past three years running. And interest in this year’s event has been just as intense with organizers receiving calls from around the world and the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens website inundated with hundreds of ticket inquiries.

“We have been absolutely delighted with the level of interest that has been shown in this year’s Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens and once again we are looking forward to a thrilling three days of rugby and socializing,” said Gary Chapman, President Group Services and Dnata, Emirates Group.

“The 2006 Dubai Sevens experienced an unprecedented amount of rain but the unusual weather certainly has not dampened any enthusiasm for this year’s event. The good news for fans is that ticket prices remain fixed at last year's levels and, if anything, demand is even stronger. We can’t wait for the action to get underway.”

With a world-class 16 team line-up competing in the Emirates International Trophy, plus a host of local and regional teams on display over the three days, spectators will be treated to a unique feast of rugby.

Added to the action in the middle will be a range of entertainment in the stands and in the ‘Rugby Village’. The popular children’s area will again see bouncy castles, face painting and a crčche catering for the youngsters and those wanting to watch the rugby together in a dedicated, alcohol-free environment can take advantage of the ‘Family Stand’.

Making life easier after a day at the Sevens will be 12 Double Decker buses that will transport thousands of rugby fans back into central Dubai.

Tickets for the 2007 Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens can be bought from the Emirates Souvenir Retail Outlets (Deira City Centre and Mall of Emirates), the Dubai Exiles, MMI, Dnata Travel Centres, HSBC Jumeirah, Sharjah Wanderers, Left Bank, MMI Outlets, Jumbo Electronics (MOE) and Spinneys (Umm Suquim).

Tickets cost Dhs 125 for Friday, Dhs 175 for Saturday or Dhs 225 for a season pass.
