Champagne Celebration for the Launch of Sofitel Mansion & Spa and LeSpa

Travel News Asia Thursday, 8 February 2007

On Friday 9 February 2007, The Mansion Hotel at Werribee Park will be changing its name to Sofitel Mansion & Spa and officially joining the Accor's 5-star Sofitel network. It will also be launching the first LeSpa in Australia.

In the past 12 months, almost $1 million has been invested on upgrading the boutique hotel’s facilities and creating LeSpa.

Opened in 2000 and located just over 20 minutes south west of Melbourne behind the original 1870s mansion, the Sofitel Mansion & Spa offers 91 deluxe guestrooms, each remastered with luxuries which include the Sofitel My Bed, LCD TV screens, Roger&Gallet amenities and a range of new soft furnishings.

LeSpa, with eight new spa treatment rooms including a unique Lancôme beauty studio and a VIP treatment suite with access to a private hamman (Turkish steam room), will be one of Melbourne’s finest places to relax, pamper and indulge. Apart from presenting an extensive range of luxurious Decleor, Lancôme and Li’Tya body and beauty treatments, LeSpa will also feature a team of highly trained therapists and the highest levels of service and professionalism.

The food and wine experience is also an essential part of a stay at the Sofitel Mansion & Spa. With the formal gardens of Werribee Park in the background, Joseph’s Restaurant will continue to offer a magnificent setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serve as a popular option for afternoon tea on weekends.

General Manager of the Sofitel Mansion & Spa, John Dickson said, “We are delighted to be joining the Sofitel network and with our new range of five star facilities and amenities, we will be projected to the forefront of the boutique hotel market in Australia.”

LeSpa is also a first for the South Pacific region and will add to an already impressive list of facilities at our landmark property,” John said.

A destination within itself, Werribee Park plays host to a playground of exciting events and attractions. Wander  through the Helen Lempriere sculpture exhibition, which is on display from 1 March to 27 May 2007, visit the WerribeeOpen Range Zoo, drop in for a glass of wine at Shadowfax winery and take in the delightful scents from the 4,000 roses on display in the Victorian State Rose Garden.

To celebrate its new name, the Sofitel Mansion & Spa is offering a special ‘Relaunch Package’ that includes overnight accommodation, full breakfast for two in Joseph’s Restaurant, a bottle of Moet & Chandon on arrival and a Decelor gift pack from A$345 per couple.
