The Great Singapore Sale (GSS), now in its 14th year, has Singapore abuzz with attractive offers, tempting rewards and exciting events.

Running until 22 July 2007, shoppers can enjoy discounts of up to 70% on just about anything, anywhere. From the central shopping belt of Orchard Road and Marina Bay to the shopping precincts in the Heartlands, there is fantastic value to be found on fashion, watches, jewellery, electronics and more.

In addition to the thousands of stores islandwide that have since become regular participants of the annual GSS, this year’s Sale has the participation of tenants of the three newest malls in Singapore – Central, Square 2 and VivoCity.

Making a comeback for the third GSS is the ever-popular Late Night Shopping. Apart from Orchard Road, Marina Bay and Bugis, three suburban malls are also be participating for the first time. The participating malls are:

- From Orchard Road – Far East Plaza, Pacific Plaza, Wheelock Place, Wisma Atria Shopping Centre, Tangs Orchard, Paragon, The Centrepoint, Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, The Cathay
- From Bugis - Bugis Street, Bugis Village, Bugis Junction
- From Marina Bay – Raffles City Shopping Centre, CityLink Mall, Marina Square, Suntec City Mall
- From the Suburbs – Causeway Point, Compass Point, Northpoint

This brings the total number of participating malls to 19 this GSS, up from 12 last year, and they are all taking turns to extend their shopping hours till 12 midnight over 9 nights, to give time-strapped tourists more opportunity to shop. Over and above the GSS offers, there is also lots of late night specials and giveaways to further sweeten the shopping experience.

Ms. Mawar Quek, Area Director of Singapore Tourism Board Thailand and Myanmar said, “To enhance the overall shopping experience for our visitors, the Singapore Tourism Board has launched a Tourist Privilege Card this GSS, which will give visitors the chance to enjoy exclusive offers when they present their Tourist Privilege Card and passport at the participating outlets.”

As the official card for GSS since 2004, Mastercard is taking GSS to new heights with rewards specially for visitors. Besides enjoying double chances of winning in the Global Refund ‘Shop Tax Free & Win’ Draw, visitors who shop and charge Sin$500 and above to MasterCard, will also be instantly rewarded with attractive premiums when they claim their GST refunds through Global Refund. The MasterCard Instant Rewards include MasterCard premiums, branded key fobs, business cardholders, pendants, key rings, bracelets, ties, wallets and pen sets.
