Search ASIA Travel Tips .com Thursday, 7 June 2007

Galileo has launched Galileo Desktop 2.0, the latest release of Galileo’s suite of access products, which enable travel agents to access a wealth of content including 450+ airlines, 66,000 hotels and 23 car suppliers. In addition to the provision of access, the Galileo Desktop conducts fare searches, bookings and ticketing, offering a one-stop shop for the agent in fulfilling customer requirements.

The latest release includes enhancements to both Desktop user interfaces - Focalpoint, the “cryptic” entry booking tool; and Viewpoint, the Graphical User Interface (GUI) booking tool.

A new interactive feature within Focalpoint will enable agents to click on sections within the “cryptic” environment making the entire booking process more intuitive and faster. The GUI booking tool, Viewpoint, will now include additional functionality such as the Automated Miscellaneous Charge Order feature, Complete Pricing, access to Hotel Leisure Rates, and Advanced Passenger information, all of which were previously only available within Focalpoint.

Agencies can customise their desktop by displaying agency-specific terminology and tailoring style sheets and business workflow processes. They can also send customer itineraries via email in the language of their choice and include their agency branding.

“There is no charge for Galileo Desktop 2.0” said Simon Nowroz, Managing Director, Galileo Asia “and once Galileo Desktop is installed, agents will be able to download the latest updates and enhancements automatically from our website.”
