Hong Kong-based
Swiss-Belhotel International, has signed a management contract for a new four star hotel property
in Doha, Qatar, to be known as Swiss-Belhotel Doha, Suites & Residences.
The new hotel, the third for the Swiss-Belhotel International group in the Middle East region, is just
five minutes from the international airport, and ideally located between the banking district and the
old Doha city centre. The 17 floor twin tower property and shopping precinct was designed by Badih
& Kantar a well known designer architect from Beirut, Lebanon. A soft opening of the hotel is
slated for March 2008.
The hotel and residences have been designed in a twin-tower configuration with one tower
dedicated to residential living spaces and the other, hotel rooms, suites and facilities, atop a luxury
shopping mall showcasing international fashion and accessory brands.
The hotel
will feature an impressive inventory of 185 rooms, executive rooms and suites ranging from spacious standard rooms starting at
55sqm to the 90 sqm three-bedroom Royal Suite. For the more discerning business traveler, an executive lounge is a key feature with two dedicated floors of guests rooms.
In addition to a plethora of facilities, the hotel will feature two restaurants.
The all day dining restaurant serving international cuisine will be located on the
Mezzanine floor opposite the lounge, while an impressive combination of exotic flavours will be available at the Pan-Asian Fusion restaurant.
The Pan-Asian Fusion restaurant
will feature a Japanese sushi-train concept and teppanyaki tables, as well as specialty cuisine from India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand,
Vietnam, China and Hong Kong. The action in the glass encased show-kitchen will be on display for guests to see their
meals being prepared in flaming woks right before their very eyes.
In the winter months when temperatures cool, an outdoor alfresco dining option
will be available offering spectacular views over the Persian Gulf.
The hotel's other facilities
will include extensive meeting and conference spaces including a 300sqm ballroom complete with pre function areas,
well-equipped health and fitness facilities, an outdoor pool, and a business centre.
