The Fleming Hotel in Hong Kong launches Dedicated Floor for Ladies

Travel News Asia Monday, 5 February 2007

The Fleming Hotel in Hong Kong this month launches a dedicated floor for ladies - Her Space - with rooms purposefully decorated and equipped to cater to the expectations of today’s modern female traveller.

Acknowledging the ever-increasing numbers of independent female business and leisure travellers and their desire for female-friendly in-room amenities and services, together with the ability to relax amid safe, secure and user-friendly surroundings, The Fleming is one of Hong Kong’s first hotels to dedicate an entire floor to the requirements of this growing market segment.

“The Fleming has its finger on the pulse of the specific expectations of the modern female traveller, in particular those travelling alone, and made the decision to establish Hong Kong’s first and only dedicated floor for ladies based upon feedback and research conducted during the development of the hotel. And we are now very proud to officially launch Her Space to the market,” said John Hui, Managing Director of The Fleming.

The female-friendly rooms are all adorned with fresh flowers, adding a soft, feminine touch to the ambience of the room. Guests can also light the aroma oil that is provided in the room to create a soothing scent to unwind.

Thoughtful bedding arrangements, including super-soft and furry cushions, silk draperies, extra pillows and fur rug are spread to ensure a sense of comfort and subtle luxury.

The rooms in Her Space are also provided with additional facilities above and beyond those provided on other floors of the hotel, including a jewellery box, leg massage machine and facial steamer.

Guests staying in The Fleming’s Her Space will also be able to enjoy the exclusive toiletries by French skincare specialist L’Occitane and even some other easily forgotten yet very essential items such as an Emory board, sanitary napkins and hair clip. Make-up remover and ladies shaver are also available upon request.

The in-room mini-bar is tailored to health-conscious women, featuring a selection of soothing herbal teas and healthy snacks. A yoga mat is also offered to those who would like to practice yoga at their leisure in the spacious guestroom,  as well as a day pass to California Fitness Center, which is only minutes away from the hotel, is given to all hotel guests who would like a more thorough workout.

Security on all floors of The Fleming is enhanced with key card access-only to each floor via the elevator.

Located in a quiet side street in the heart of Wan Chai, The Fleming is just footsteps from Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and all major transport links, as well as the district’s famous shopping and nightlife.

The Fleming Executive Rooms are further equipped with 3-in-1 fax, scanner and printer, DVD player, plus kitchenette – ideal for frequent travellers desiring “a night at home” while away and kitchen facilities where they can prepare light meals and snacks according to their personal requirements.

The “urban lifestyle” concept of The Fleming extends to all high-tech facilities as required by today’s business and leisure travellers, with all 66 rooms offering plasma television, wireless Broadband Internet access and cordless telephones with voicemail service.

Located on the Lobby level, the intimate restaurant, Cubix, serves tapas and Western cuisine, plus a range of signature cocktails and wines. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A fully equipped Business Centre offers a conference room, individual workstations and secretarial and translation services. It is also home to the hotel’s extensive DVD library for guest’s in-room entertainment and enjoyment.
