Dusit expands D2 brand with Two New Hotels in Thailand

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Friday, 5 October 2007

Dusit's trendy brand, D2, is expanding its portfolio in Thailand with two new hotels, one in Pattaya and the other in Koh Samui.

Since the opening of the first Dusit brand extension property, the D2hotel Chiang Mai, in 2005, the hotel has grown in popularity among trendy Thais as well as hip holidaymakers. Continuing the D2 brand mission to "deliver a leading new business or leisure experience focusing on recognizing and meeting the needs of the new generation of travellers" and the D2 character: "delightful, dynamic and divine - a modernistic Thai concept with a blend of innovative design," the new D2 hotels in Pattaya and Samui are being developed along these lines.

The dusitD2 baraquda pattaya, slated to open in October 2008, will have 72 rooms and suites, a club lounge, a main restaurant serving Indochine food and a cool bar, pool bar, and sunset lounge, spa, fitness, retail shop, a swimming pool each for adults and kids, and two meeting rooms.

The dusitD2 samui will be located on Choengmon Beach. It will have 60 individual pool villas and is scheduled to open in August 2009. Facilities will encompass a restaurant, poolside bar, spa, fitness, library, meeting rooms, and a 90-metre-long swimming pool facing the sea.
