Minor International appoints John Griffin as VP of Marketing

Minor International, one of Asia’s leading hotel developers and operators, has appointed John Griffin as Vice President of Marketing. Griffin, an Australian national, will oversee global marketing execution, including marketing strategy, branding, message articulation  and communications for Minor International’s growing resort brand, Anantara and future brand launches that complement Minor’s growth into global hotel management.

Throughout his career, John Griffin has held a myriad of executive positions in the luxury hotel, financial services and professional agency sectors. With 5 years’ marketing experience at American Express (Sydney), he was responsible for the launch of new financial products as well as advertising and deployment of their worldwide offerings to the Australia/New Zealand markets. Griffin joins Minor International from Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts (London) where he held the role of Vice President Worldwide Marketing, overseeing global corporate marketing, including marketing communications, customer insight, partnership and loyalty programmes.

In his new role, Griffin will be based in the Bangkok corporate offices of Minor International.

Minor International has a portfolio of 16 hotels and over 2,352 rooms under the Marriott, Four Seasons, Anantara, and Minor International brands. Through a joint venture with Marriott International, it has developed the 144 room Marriott Vacation Club Time Share in Phuket. It is also one of the largest spa operators in Asia Pacific with spas in Thailand, China, the Middle East, Africa and the Maldives under the Mandara and Anantara brands. It is also one of Thailand’s largest food service operators with over 558 outlets system wide under The Pizza Company, Swensen’s, Sizzler, Dairy Queen and Burger King brands.
