The newest edition of Travel + Leisure, one of the world's leading travel magazines, is about to hit the shelves in Southeast Asia. Joining six other editions, the magazine will be the most widely distributed of T+L's international family outside the U.S. flagship edition, reaching 12 countries and territories across the region.

Travel + Leisure, owned by American Express Publishing, has been a leading travel and lifestyle magazine for more than 35 years. The winner of numerous awards for outstanding journalism and photography, the latest addition to the fold, Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, will bring its readers high-quality regional coverage alongside international content tailored to its target audience.

"Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia is aimed squarely at the sophisticated Asian traveler," said editor-in-chief Matt Leppard. "But the magazine is definitely not just another guide to the region's attractions. Our readers are traveling the world, and our aim is both to inform and inspire their global adventures, with coverage of destinations as diverse as New York, London and even Patagonia."

According to Lucas W. Krump, vice president and associate publisher of Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, the magazine launch is a direct reflection of current trends in travel across the region.

"At present inter-regional travel serves as the core inbound tourism market for any one country in Southeast Asia," said Krump. "Countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore recognize the importance of inbound tourism from neighboring countries and are making substantial efforts to maintain and increase visitors from other Southeast Asian countries."

Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia is published by Media Transasia Ltd. With offices in Bangkok, Hong Kong and across India, the company is already one of the region's biggest and most successful publishing houses. The company also produces OK! and Seventeen magazines, as well as Maxim India and the South Asia (India) edition of Travel + Leisure.

Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia will be printed monthly, with an initial print run of 50,000 copies. It will be distributed in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Macau, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei and Laos, with a cover price of around US$5.
