Qantas adds Capacity for World Youth Day

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Wednesday, 3 October 2007

Qantas is to operate additional services to bring international visitors to Australia for World Youth Day in July 2008. The airline will operate four additional services to Australia to bring pilgrims to the event - three from Rome and one from Los Angeles.

"Qantas is a major sponsor of World Youth Day and we have already seen a large number of advance bookings from overseas for this important event," Executive General Manager of Qantas, Mr John Borghetti said.

"There is demand from pilgrims to attend World Youth Day across the Qantas network, but it is particularly strong from Italy and the USA.

"These extra flights, which will see Qantas return to Rome for the first time since 2003, will allow us to meet this demand and offer World Youth Day pilgrims a direct return service from Italy to Sydney."

The pilgrim flights operate from Rome on 5, 8 and 12 July, returning to Rome on 21, 25 and 28 July, and from Los Angeles on 9 July 2008, with the return journey operating on 23 July.
