Tiger Airways launches Seat Sale in Australia

Tiger Airways is to commence flying between Melbourne and Newcastle, Hobart and Canberra from the start of 2008. One-way fares start from a low $9.95 inclusive of taxes and charges.

“This new service by Tiger Airways will provide the people of the ACT and surrounding region with consistently low cost airfares. Not everyone who flies to Canberra has an expense account,” said Tiger Airways CEO Tony Davis.

“Newcastle is an attractive alternative for tourists with its wine and food experiences and also gives travelers who live in the northern suburbs of Sydney a real low fare alternative to trudging through the traffic to Mascot.” Davis added.

Due to the impressive response to its services to Launceston, Tiger Airways will also commence services to Hobart from 15 January.

To celebrate, the airline has launched a massive seat sale for travel between Melbourne and:

• Hobart from $9.95 one way (flights commencing 15 January 2008)
• Newcastle from $9.95 one way (flights commencing 18 January 2008)
• Canberra from $9.95 one way (flights commencing 14 February 2008)
• Gold Coast from $9.95 one way (for travel between 1 Jul – 30 Sept 08)
• Launceston from $9.95 one way (for travel between 1 Jul – 30 Sept 08)
• Rockhampton from $9.95 one way (for travel between 29 Mar – 30 Sept 08)
• Mackay from $9.95 one way; (for travel between 29 Mar – 30 Sept 08)
• Sunshine Coast from $9.95 one way. (for travel between 29 Mar – 30 Sept 08): and
• Perth from $79.95 one way (for travel between 1 Jul – 30 Sept 08)

These fares include taxes and charges and are subject to regulatory approval. 40,000 seats will be available at these prices.
