Nakheel confirms The Palm as lead sponsor of first ever Kuwait Boat Show

Travel News Asia Thursday, 29 March 2007

Nakheel, one of the world's largest privately held real estate developers, has confirmed that The Palm will be the lead sponsor of the inaugural Kuwait Boat Show.

Manal Shaheen, Nakheel Director - Sales, Marketing & Customer Service, said, "We are extremely excited to be involved in the Kuwait Boat Show. The Gulf is one of the fastest growing leisure boating markets in the world, and Nakheel is central to that growth. Our first landmark development The Palm Jumeirah will add many kilometres of waterfront and numerous new marinas to Dubai's coastline, and by the completion of The Palm Deira and our other waterfront projects we will have supplied 40,000 new berths for leisure boats to meet this growing demand.

"Alongside this, our recent launch of the Marina Residences on The Palm Jumeirah is a great demonstration of how keen we are to attract the kind of discerning consumer who might attend the Kuwait Boat Show. These incredible properties are world-class, and perfectly suited as a base for sailing in the Gulf."

Marina Residences is the first properties available to buy on The Palm Jumeirah in more than four years. More than 50% of the project is now sold following the sale of 185 units during the second release of property and due to demand, a further, limited amount of properties have been released and are available for sale now.

The residential complex, located at the tip of The Palm Jumeirah's trunk, is composed of six residential towers that rest on landscaped podiums faced with marinas and access to a private promenade. The six towers are each 15 storeys high and hold 940 two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses; a further 40 townhouses rest on a marina fronted private promenade.

The Kuwait Boat Show will be held from 21-25 April 2007 at Al Kout Marina, and plans to welcome around 10,000 visitors from Kuwait and the Gulf region, with more than 60 exhibitors set to demonstrate around 200 of their latest product lines.
