Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Friday, 28 September 2007

Carlson Hotels has confirmed plans to develop another hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The Park Plaza Bangkok Asoke, developed in partnership with Park Royal Co., Ltd. is scheduled to open late 2009. Conveniently located along a trendy and bustling stretch on Soi 18 Sukhumvit road, the 120-room hotel is just 30 minutes from the New Bangkok International Airport.

"The Park Plaza Bangkok Asoke will be an excellent addition to our growing portfolio of hotels," said Paul Kirwin, president of Carlson Hotels Worldwide Asia Pacific and president of Carlson Asia Pacific. "Bangkok is Thailand's most important business and tourist destination. We hope to continue to grow our presence in the country, and to be the hotel of choice by providing a comfortable and vibrant travel experience synonymous with the Park Plaza brand."

Designed by Inter Architects, the Park Plaza Bangkok Asoke will offer all the contemporary luxuries and service quality offered by Park Plaza hotels. Inter Architects are also responsible for other Carlson Hotels-branded projects, including The Regent Bangkok and the Radisson Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit.

The Park Plaza Bangkok Asoke's central location, a few minutes walk from the Asoke BTS Skytrain and Sukhumvit MRTA subway station, allows easy access to popular nightspots, major shopping and tourist destinations, as well as corporate and government offices.

In addition, the hotel will provide guests with spacious rooms, facilities and amenities, including multi-channel cable television and Internet connectivity. Guests will be able to enjoy local and international cuisine at the all-day dining restaurants with great views over the city, and take advantage of the Business Centre, swimming pool and well-equipped fitness centre.
