Starwood Hotels & Resorts expands Sales and Marketing Team in Asia Pacific

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Sales and Marketing team in Asia Pacific.

"With this strong team, we are looking forward to further differentiating ourselves from the competition, increase loyalty, drive share and margins, as well as redefine the hospitality industry" said Oliver Bonke, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing Asia-Pacific, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Loyalty and partnership marketing: Lisa Miller has been appointed Director of Loyalty and Partnership Marketing for Asia Pacific. Lisa will handle all aspects of partner strategies, as well as building Starwood's award winning loyalty program Starwood Preferred Guest, Starwood Preferred Planner (loyalty program for meeting planners), Starwood Privilege and other related loyalty programs. Lisa was previously Director of Sales & Marketing at The Westin Melbourne. She has been part of the team that brought the hotel to the market leader position. The hotel has also received various international, national and state accolades for service, financial performance and product offering, including the recent "Best Luxury Hotel" at the National Tourism Awards.

Talent Acquisition: Vivian Zhu has been appointed Manager of Talent Acquisition for Asia Pacific. Vivian brings with her rich recruitment experience, starting as the Human Resources specialist with Sinochem in 1997. She then held various Human Resources leadership positions, including as EMBA program manager for CEIBS, the top business school in China, where she recruited business leaders for the program; as well as working with leading consulting firms of Unitedinfo and ACNielsen with a focus on recruitment in Chicago, USA and Shanghai, China. In the competitive environment for talents with the leading consulting firms, Vivian has successfully managed the recruitment efforts to significantly support the growing consulting business. In her current role, Vivian will be responsible for the talent sourcing strategies and solutions to support corporate and personnel talent needs for Asia Pacific, with a key focus in the area of Sales and Marketing.

Online Marketing: Joseph Hayes has been appointed Online Marketing Manager for Asia Pacific, and will take on key responsibilities in maximizing revenue opportunity through Starwood's branded web channels. After working for two years in Dallas as a European marketing strategist for an American telecom company, Joseph relocated to Germany where he helped the company expand into eight European countries. For the last 18 months, Joseph has been the Field Marketing Manager for Los Angeles on the Starwood Southern California and Las Vegas regional team. Joseph is known in the Starwood's global field marketing community for his professionalism and a broad range of online/field marketing experiences.

Brand Management: Fay-Linn Yeoh and Vincent Ong have been appointed Westin and Sheraton brand directors for Asia Pacific respectively. Fay Linn and Vincent will lead the implementation of brand initiatives; roll out brand and tactical marketing and drive brand standards for the Westin and Sheraton brands respectively. Prior to joining the brand team, Fay Linn held the position of Director of Sales & Marketing at several Starwood hotels, including The Westin Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok. She had also led the area sales & marketing function in Indonesia and was instrumental in the launch and build up of the Starwood Preferred Guest program in Asia Pacific. Vincent was previously director of Six Sigma at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, where he led major profitability, business development and revenue generating initiatives.

Hazel Ooi joins the brand team as brand executive, taking on brand management of Four Points by Sheraton and providing support for other brands.

Revenue Management: Bettina Bamert has been appointed Marketing Analyst for Asia Pacific. Bettina will be working with hotels on the analysis of hotel performance, and supporting hotels on revenue related tools, in addition to supporting the implementation of Revenue Management strategy for Starwood in Asia Pacific.

Sales: Vasan Krishnaswamy has been appointed Sales Project Manager for Asia Pacific. Vasan will collaborate extensively with Starwood's Asia Pacific Global Sales Offices and field sales network and partners to research, develop and implement sales projects across Asia Pacific.
