Travel News Asia Monday, 2 July 2007

Emirates customers visiting Dubai for the Summer Surprises can win holidays, diamond jewellery worth AED 100,000 and an exclusive limited edition Mont Blanc gold watch, while going on a rare journey of discovery along the ancient Silk Road, a commerce pipeline that started in China and ended at Venice, Emirates' newest destination, to which flights started 1st July.

Following a successful promotion last DSS, Emirates has once again partnered with the premier Wafi City shopping mall. There will be a spend-to-win promotion for customers who spend AED 300 or more at any Wafi outlet with a chance to win one of five extraordinary prizes

Until 31st August, Wafi Mall will represent an animated map of the Silk Road. There will be crafts, costume and silk displays, historical facts, tenant displays and interactive games - all themed to their geographical location and the culture of that area. Featuring prominently are China, India, The Middle East, Russia, Europe (Venice).

Customers spending AED 300 in the mall or at the restaurant complex, Pyramids, have a chance to win one of five special prizes. They can choose which draw they participate in. For the Europe draw, the prize is two Business Class flights to Venice with premium accommodation courtesy of Emirates Holidays.

From India, the prize is from Mont Blanc, in the form of a gold watch worth over AED 100,000; from the Middle East shopping vouchers worth AED 100,000 and luxury accommodation at Raffles Dubai, are up for grabs. From Russia, there is a chance to win AED 100,000 of diamond jewellery from Damas; and from China, participants can win two Emirates Business Class tickets to Beijing and luxury accommodation at Raffles Beijing.

Passengers purchasing Emirates DSS packages will receive a booklet of discount vouchers, offering discounts from more than 60 up-market retail outlets and 15 cafes, restaurants and bars, all located within Wafi Mall.

Skywards members will also receive the discount voucher booklet when they produce their Skywards card at the information desk at Wafi.

Starting from just US$ 50 per person, per night for a minimum three-night stay, the packages offer customers a choice of 14 city and beach hotels in various price-brackets. Prices include all accommodation-related taxes and service charges and are available to all Emirates' passengers regardless of class of travel.

As part of the packages, customers are treated to a personalised meet-and-assist service on arrival at Dubai International Airport. They also receive an Arabian Adventures Welcome Pack including a special discount voucher booklet for Wafi City, one of Dubai's premier malls.
