Avis opens New Branch in Shanghai

Avis has opened a new car rental location at Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai, China.

Avis China, is represented via 13 locations in 8 cities across China (including: Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Shenzen) and offers a wide range of affordable mobility services including: point to point transfers (airport to office or hotel), daily car rental (self drive or with-driver) and vehicle leasing services (new and used car leasing for 1 to 3 years - self drive or with-driver).

Lucy Barawitzka, Deputy General Manager Sales and Marketing - Avis China, said, “We are delighted to open our new location at Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai. Our new location is a short walk from the airport terminal and provides more capacity for our growing fleet. Domestic travel continues to grow and is expected to reach a staggering 1.78 billion domestic travelers by 2010. Avis provides self drive or with-driver car rental services to and from the airport. We are also providing this service via Pudong International Airport in Shanghai and from Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzen Airports.”

Avis is accelerating its network expansion in China in preparation for the 2008 Olympics and 2010 World Expo.
