Langham Hotels International to Manage Beijing Airport Hotel

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels recently represented Beijing Capital Airport Tourism Co., (BCA) in the selection of an operating partner and the negotiations of a management agreement for its hotel located at the new Terminal 3 of the Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA). The five-star hotel will bear the flag of Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport Hotel and is scheduled to start operations in July 2008.

Conveniently located adjacent to the newly constructed Terminal 3, Langham Place Hotel is perfectly positioned for both transit and longer term guests. The hotel is also just minutes away from the new China International Exhibition Centre and Tianzhu Airport Industrial Zone.

The six-storey hotel will provide over 400 luxurious bedrooms and suites. Food and beverage facilities will include a beer house fun pub, Chinese and Japanese cuisine restaurants as well as an interactive all day dining buffet restaurant and Langham Place's Portal Bar concept where Work and Play intertwine in an entertaining, contemporary atmosphere. With 4,000 sqm of flexible function space and inspired catering service, the Langham Place Hotel will be an ideal venue for staging events of varying scales. For guests desiring a rejuvenating break, the hotel will house a magnificent Chuan Spa based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. As well, the hotel will house a 5,000 sqm water park, a great amenity for families to enjoy.

According to Chinese government officials, construction for Terminal 3 at the BCIA is progressing well and is on track to be operational in February 2008. Designed by the same architect who masterminded the Hong Kong International Airport, the new Terminal 3 will increase BCIA's capacity to handle 600,000 flights per annum, triple its current capacity of 200,000 flights. Passenger throughput capacity will expand to 82 million passengers annually, more than double the present 36 million.
