As part of its endeavors to tap promising markets and strengthen its status, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is conducting Dubai Road Shows in five Far East cities between May 21 to 30 with the support of 24 co-participants, including Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).

The DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, said the Far East has remained a promising market for Dubai’s tourism and trade and the road shows would help it make further inroads. The department has been maintaining a representation office for the Far East in Hong Kong and studying opening an office in China soon, he said.

The Dubai Road Show kicked off in Singapore on May 21, moved to Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and will be in Bangkok on May 25, Hong Kong on May 28 and the Chinese city of Guangzhou on May 30.

This is the first time the department has organized a road shows series of this scale in this region.

The Dubai delegation, comprising of 15 tour operators, six hoteliers, Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, Emirates Airlines, and DSS-DSF, will conduct networking and business exchanges with the Far Eastern travel trade industry players.

More than 800 representatives of the travel industry are expected to attend these road shows which feature presentations, a mini exhibition, international buffet and a raffle draw.
