MSC Opera to host Special 10-Day Spa and Wellness Cruise

Travel News Asia Wednesday, 22 August 2007

MSC Opera is hosting a special “Wellbeing Cruise” which promises a 10-day journey of personal pampering and holistic discovery.

Departing Tuesday 4 September from Dover in England, MSC Opera will cruise to the Mediterranean, call into the Spanish ports of La Coruna and Malaga, offering passengers the chance to visit the beautiful historical city of Granada, home of the spectacular Alhambra Palace. Next is Valletta, the capital of Malta, followed by the medieval walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia. Finally, arrive in style, fully relaxed and rejuvenated, at the port of Venice on 13 September.

MSC Cruises has joined forces with the Italian Medical-Scientific Society AIDAP (Associazione Italiana Disturbi dell’Alimentazione e del Peso) to offer guests an unique on board experience. In addition to various spa treatments, there are seminars by experts who will impart advice, demonstrations and free consultations as well as sessions on sensible eating habits and weight control, supervised by dieticians and nutritionists. All participants will receive a food diary and a calorie counting device provided by AIDAP.

Other seminars focus on breathing techniques, the importance of personal contact and, amongst other aspects, the effects of lava stones, shiatsu and Balinese massage, chakra and use of crystals. Additionally there will be practical demonstrations and regenerating courses in the Techno gym, special dietary menus and wellbeing cocktails, plus pre-programmed fitness courses. Special wellbeing packages with MSC Cruises are a must - all guests have to submit to rituals such as Balinese massage, reflexology and pressotherapy.

Once the treatments and the seminars are over, passengers can enjoy the onboard pools, eliminate toxins with a sauna or Turkish steam room or burn off a few more calories by running along the jogging track. The ship’s Hydromassage baths offer a sense of relaxation and help clear the mind. The whole programme is enhanced by MSC Opera’s on board beauty treatments and hairdressers.
