Nominations open for AIME Industry Person of the Year Awards

Travel News Asia Monday, 22 January 2007

Nominations are now open for the AIME Industry Person of the Year Awards - International and Asia Pacific.

The two awards aim to recognise best practice and overall commitment and contribution to the industry together with any innovations implemented during the past calendar year.

Submissions can be made online through the AIME website and the deadline for submissions is Thursday 8 February 2007.

According to AIME Event Director Ms Rosemarie Sama, the awards acknowledge the important contribution one person can make.

“Our industry consists of individuals doing remarkable jobs, many of whom go largely unnoticed, and we are delighted that we can facilitate a process where they can be recognised for their unflagging professionalism and commitment,” said Ms Sama.

“The inaugural AIME Awards in 2006 brought a terrific response with submissions received from Australia, Asia, the UK and Europe and I urge everyone to put forward a nominee for 2007,” said Ms Sama.

The winner of the international award in 2006 was the inexhaustible Robin Lokerman, CEO, Institutional Division of leading pan-European association and event management company MCI. The Asia Pacific award went to Sandra Passaro, Director – Business Tourism, Gold Coast Tourism Corporation – also a worthy recipient of the individual award.
