China Airlines to Offer Enhanced Functionality on Galileo

Travel News Asia Monday, 21 May 2007

Galileo recently renewed its content distribution agreement with China Airlines. As part of the agreement, China Airlines will implement enhanced functionalities on the Galileo system to provide travel agents with greater ease in booking its content and delivering better service to their customers. In addition, all China Airlines’ published fares and inventory are available to all users of the Galileo system including Galileo-connected travel agencies, corporate customers and Travelport online agencies booking through Galileo.

One of the added functionalities is Interactive Seat Assignment which provides Galileo connected travel agents the ability to request seat maps and assign, change or cancel specific seats for their customers in a real-time environment. Other enhanced features include Complete Booking Record which provides airlines and travel agents with detailed flight information to ensure a seamless travel experience for customers on connecting flights; and View PNR which verifies bookings and ensures related itinerary details are correctly reflected in China Airline’s system, providing travel agents with greater confidence in delivering superior customer service.

China Airline’s Mr. Hsieh Su-Chien, Vice President Passenger Sales, said, “Travel agents remain a cornerstone of our business and this development to provide enhanced functionalities will no doubt enable them to sell more effectively.”
