PATA Thailand Chapter targets MICE Industry with 'The Big Picture'

Leading members of the multi-billion baht a year meetings and conventions industry in Thailand will be able to hear expert advice this October, on how they can significantly enhance their competitive edge and market share.

A workshop, entitled "The Big Picture" is aiming to attract over 100 delegates who will exchange insights into global trends, analyse successful case studies and improve the sales skills of the attendees.

One of Thailand's newest meeting venues, the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World, will host the event on October 26.

Bob James, Chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Thailand Chapter said, "The 'Big Picture' is one of the most ambitious seminars that the Chapter has ever staged. It brings together the biggest names in Thailand's meeting, incentives, conventions and exhibition industries."

"New but more demanding markets are emerging in the meetings arena. One of our goals is to share with delegates important information to help with the setting of future sales and marketing campaigns," Bob added.

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, the Thailand Incentive & Convention Association, the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives, and Diethelm Events are all playing a major role in the event.

David Barrett, Executive Manager at Diethelm Events (Thailand) said there is now immense pressure on meetings industry professionals. "They are expected to out-perform, out-sell and provide outstanding service as never before. Our aim on October 26 is to provide the industry in Thailand with the tools do so."

Using a Hollywood "Big Picture" movie theme, specific sessions in the Big Picture are being called: "The Lion King - a snapshot of large international congresses", "Close Encounters of a MICE Kind - encounters with three buyers and three sellers from China, India and Singapore", "Casino Royale - hit the jackpot with 007 upselling shots", "Mission Impossible - event industry bloopers and how to avoid them", and "The Oscars of the Incentive Industry - three case studies of outstanding events that are worthy of an Oscar"

The Big Picture takes place Friday, October 26, 0900-1730 at World Ballroom A, Centara Grand at Central World in Bangkok. Prices are 5,000 baht for PATA, SITE, TICA and TCEB members and 5,500 baht for non-members. The cost includes all seminar documents, lunch and two coffee breaks.
