SuperStar Virgo offering Cruisers Treadwall Climb

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 20 February 2007

SuperStar Virgo is now offering its passengers a rotating climbing wall, the Treadwall, a first for cruisers in the region. Children are also sure to have a fun time with the Traversing Bouldering Wall, recommended for the young ones aged between five and twelve.

The Treadwall incorporates auto-stop technology for self-paced, motor-less climbing with adjustable angles and holds. Its simple to use as there is nothing to strap on, no other equipment required. Climbers just adjust their rate of ascent with the twist of a knob and the climbing angle changes with the turn of a wheel.

The Treadwall is very safe as climbers are never more than 1-2 feet off the floor. When it's time to stop, climbers just step down to the floor. No experience is necessary; if one can run, one can climb. Just hop on and go as the climber sets his or her own pace. The Treadwall will stop and go automatically as one climbs.

The Treadwall is an excellent aerobic trainer as it has a Polar heart-rate receiver, that monitors the heart rate of the climber, integrated right into the Treadwalls' counter-timer unit.

The other climbing activity is the colourful Traversing Bouldering Wall recommended for children from 5 years to 12 years old.
