Swissôtel Kunshan obtains Official 5-star Rating

The Swissôtel Kunshan, China has obtained its official 5-star rating award. Since its re-branding on 1 July 2007 to Swissôtel Kunshan, the hotel has been working towards the 5-star rating. After comprehensive auditing and evaluation by the country’s National Star-Rating Committee, the Swissôtel Kunshan has now been recognised with the 5-star rating award.

Swissôtel Kunshan features 387 appointed rooms and suites with panoramic views of the city and river. Strategically located in the city centre of Kunshan, the hotel is within walking distance to the new Library, Stadium, Grand Theatre, Broadcast and TV Centre, government offices and shopping area.

The hotel features three food & beverage outlets including a Chinese restaurant, a bar and an all day dining restaurant, an exclusive Swiss Executive Club Lounge as well as spa and fitness facilities. Its extensive conference and meeting facilities include a pillar-free Grand Ballroom for up to 500 guests and six smaller multi-function rooms. All conference and function rooms feature state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment including broadband Internet access and a simultaneous interpretation system.

Kunshan city is situated in Jiangsu province in the Eastern part of China and has a population of 1.6 million people. It lies in the Yangtze River Delta between metropolitan Shanghai and the renowned historical and cultural city of Suzhou. The Swissôtel Kunshan is just a mere 30 minutes from Suzhou and a 50-minute drive to the city centre of Shanghai. Being one of China’s top ten cities, Kunshan’s thriving tourism industry is popular for its Yangcheng Lake, famous for its hairy crabs, and Water Towns such as Zhouzhuang and Jinxi are some of Kunshan’s popular tourist attractions.
