Galileo signs Distribution Agreement with Sama Airlines

Galileo has signed an exclusive agreement with Sama Airlines under which Sama Airlines will distribute it’s content through the Galileo GDS in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Sama Airlines, for the first time now present within a GDS, is a low cost carrier currently serving destinations within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Galileo now enjoys connectivity to all three operating airlines in Saudi Arabia; Saudi Airlines, Al Khayala Airlines and now Sama Airlines.

“We are pleased to have signed this marketing agreement with Sama Airlines,” said Fazal Muhammed, Business Development Director, Supplier Services, MEA, Pakistan, Turkey & Sri Lanka, Galileo. “This agreement further illustrates our ability to work with airlines to reach a situation that is mutually beneficial for both parties and offers great value to travel agents.”

Mr. Samer Atawi – Chief Commercial Officer Sama Airlines, said, “Galileo is a well established GDS and has a very strong presence worldwide – this agreement provides us with invaluable access to their travel agency network both within the Kingdom as well as abroad.”

Sama Airlines is a short-haul carrier serving destinations within the Kingdom and eventually other destinations across the Middle East. Sama flies Boeing 737-300 aircraft. Their current flight network expands to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah.
