Skal Hong Kong welcomes New Chapter President

Search ASIA Travel Tips .com Wednesday, 18 April 2007

Skal Hong Kong has a new Chapter President, Mr. Franz Donhauser, who takes over from Ms. Susan Field following her two year tenure.

Mr. Donhauser, who is General Manager of Island Shangri-La Hotel, assumed the Presidential role at a recent AGM and Rugby Sevens-themed Skal Luncheon, held at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.

According to many Skal Hong Kong members, Ms. Field, who owns PR and events consultancy, Impact Asia, has “breathed new life” into the club. During her time as President, she maximized results by restructuring the Executive Committee, introduced themed lunches to create more revenue making opportunities, implemented additional networking opportunities, and spearheaded the club’s successful entry into the SKAL Asian Area. As a result, club membership increased by around 25% over the past two years.

As she relinquished her Presidential mantle, she expressed her confidence at handing over to such an enthusiastic and able successor as Mr. Donhauser. She also accepted Mr. Donhauser’s offer to run the club’s Marketing and PR sub committee.

Commenting on his new role, Mr. Donhauser said he was delighted to accept the challenge of running the dynamic Skal Hong Kong chapter. He thanked Ms. Field for her dedicated commitment and for, together with the Executive Committee, revitalizing interest in the club’s activities and causes among the members.
