Carlson Hotels signs Deal for Park Plaza Chengdu Wuhou

Carlson Hotels has signed an agreement to develop The Park Plaza Chengdu Wuhou. Owned by Chengdu Zhixin Industrial Group Co. Ltd, the 240-room hotel will be designed by architectural firm, Woodhead International Shanghai, an Australian-based company, and is scheduled to be launched in May 2009.

Chengdu is the fifth most populous city in China. It is also one of the most important economic centres and serves as a transportation and communication hub in China. It is not only the gateway of West China for foreign financial institutions, but also a booming town for Chinese domestic financial firms. As a result of the flourishing local economy, an increase number of financial service firms are being lured to the city to capitalize on the economic growth.

The 240-room Park Plaza Chengdu Wuhou comprises of a 14 storey tower with a connecting podium that incorporates retail and office space.

The Park Plaza Chengdu Wuhou brings the number of Carlson hotels currently under development in China to three. There are currently nine hotels already operating in China under Carlson hotel brands including Regent Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brands.
