Private Island in the Maldives with Private Yacht for US$12,000 a Night

Travel News Asia Thursday, 18 January 2007

A private tropical island, luxury yacht, unlimited gourmet drinking and dining, and spa pampering on demand combine for one of the world’s most romantic Valentine’s Days with the world-famous 'Rania Experience' in The Maldives.

The "castaway" retreat in unadulterated luxury is priced at US$12,000 a night -- served by a full yacht crew and 30 island hosts including international chefs, spa therapists, PADI dive instructor and private butlers.

Offered for a minimum of three nights, the ‘Rania Experience’ also includes all seaplane transfers to the island from Malé International Airport with unlimited scuba-diving, non-motorised water sports, snorkeling, fishing, excursions, local island visits and seaplane transfers.

The private island in Faafu Atoll is a picture postcard paradise of white sands and turquoise blue waters surrounded by a myriad of desert island atolls, 35-minutes by seaplane from Malé.

The 'Rania Experience' includes private use of The Rania, a luxury 86ft yacht with indoor and outdoor lounges and dining areas, barbeque, Jacuzzi, air-conditioning and a full entertainment system including home-theatre.

Designed with barefoot luxury in mind, the island encompasses a lavish air-conditioned three bedroom Rania Suite overlooking a plunge pool and three individual beach villas in traditional Maldivian open-air style with thatched roofs.

Guests can enjoy unlimited pampering at The Rania Spa, offering Ayurvedic and Thai treatments. Massages can also be taken anywhere else, from the beach at sunset to the privacy of their villa or aboard the yacht at the time preferred by the guests.

Gourmet dining is cooked and served at anytime and anywhere, either on the island or aboard ‘The Rania’. Honeymooners and guests celebrating wedding anniversaries or birthdays additionally receive a complimentary bottle of premium Champagne.

Blessed with some of the world's most spectacular sunsets, a variety of cultural shows can also be arranged on request and at an additional charge, from a lively traditional Bodu Beru (big drum) dance to a laid-back local Maldivian band.

Additional amenities on the island include a small personal gym, state of the art karaoke system, billiards, volleyball, satellite TV, a selection of films and a host of board games.

The 'Rania Experience' is unique and limited to one exclusive booking at any one time.

For couples wishing to invite relatives or friends along, additional adults are charged US$750 a night, with children aged 2-12 years charged US$500 and infants under the age of 2 years free of charge. The offer does not include flights to the Maldives.
