Peter Hartmann appointed Managing Director of ExecuJet Europe

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 17 July 2007

The ExecuJet Aviation Group has appointed Mr. Peter Hartmann as Managing Director of the company’s European aviation services arm, ExecuJet Europe. Hartmann will be based at the organisation’s European and global headquarters in Zurich.

Hartmann will lead a 160-strong team of Europe-based business aviation operations and maintenance professionals based principally at ExecuJet Europe regional facilities in Zurich, Berlin and Copenhagen. ExecuJet is one of Europe’s largest business aircraft operators, maintaining three European Air Operators Certificates (AOC) and providing aircraft management, charter, maintenance handling and general FBO services. ExecuJet Europe manages a fleet of 50 business aircraft from its Zurich-based 24/365 dispatch centre.

Born in 1952 in Germany, Hartmann started his aviation career aged 20 with the German Air Force as a fighter pilot flying the F104 Starfighter for almost 12 years. Relocating to Switzerland he began his career in business aviation in Zurich, working with established local operators in a number of key operational positions before joining Avcon in the early 90’s. Hartmann became a member of ExecuJet when the company blended Avcon into its global business brand in 2001. For the past two years he has served as General Manager – ExecuJet Switzerland, at the same time actively contributing to the management and strategic development of the company’s flight operations and management business in Europe as an active member on ExecuJet Europe’s management team. Peter is married with two grown up children.

In his new role Hartmann will not only be responsible for the day-to-day management of ExecuJet Europe’s business aviation operations, support and services business across a broad territory from Ireland and the UK and across continental Europe and into Russia, Ukraine and the ex CIS, but will also provide strategic input and ongoing management of the company’s rapidly expanding business investment and operational footprint in the region. These fresh initiatives will complement ExecuJet Europe’s recent announcements regarding the opening of an FBO facility at Berlin Schönefeld Airport and the award of their German AOC.
