Carlson Hotels strengthens Sales and Marketing Team in Asia Pacific

Carlson Hotels has reinforced its sales and marketing team in Asia Pacific with two new key appointments. These appointments come as the company pushes ahead with strong expansion in the region, particularly in the China, Thailand and India markets.

Fiona Godfrey has been appointed regional director of sales, based in Singapore. In this role, she is responsible for leading the sales function and regional sales team for all brands in Asia Pacific. Fiona rejoins Carlson having previously been area director of sales and marketing in Australia from 2000 to 2002.

Fiona has 24 years experience in hotel sales and marketing and previously held a number of senior positions, including group general manager - sales & marketing at Tourism Hotels & Leisure Limited, area director of sales & marketing at the Intercontinental Hotels Group and director of sales & marketing at The Westin Melbourne.

Another addition to the Carlson team is Mahita Geekie, a practitioner in brand marketing and communications with almost 20 years experience in Asia Pacific. Mahita has been appointed brand marketing manager for Carlson Hotels Worldwide - Asia Pacific and is responsible for the development and execution of Carlson's advertising and promotional campaigns across the region. Mahita also ensures the compliance and maintenance of the highest standards for all brands within Carlson.

Prior to joining Carlson, Mahita held various advertising agency positions with Ogilvy & Mather and McCann Erickson, where her portfolio of clients included global powerhouses such as Lufthansa, Tiffany, BMW and Procter & Gamble. She was also the marketing communications manager of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Asia Pacific for five years.
