Sail the unspoilt frontier of Alaska with Silversea Cruises on one of its exciting Alaskan voyages announced for 2008.

Silversea’s prestigious ship, Silver Shadow will depart from Los Angeles, Vancouver, San Francisco and Seward to travel a total of ten voyages across Alaska, ranging from eight nights to eleven nights May through September 2008.

On its initial voyage from Los Angeles to Vancouver on 31 May, Silver Shadow will call at San Francisco, Victoria, Ketchikan, Sitka, Cruise Glacier Bay and Majerie Glacier, Skagway, Wrangell before its final stop at Vancouver.

Of the nine other Alaskan Voyages ports of call include Juneau, Haines, Tracy Arm Fjord and Sawyer Glacier. Guests will be able to experience a number of close-ups with nature – snow capped volcanos, ice-blue glaciers, salmon-filled streams and pine scented bays.

Those looking for adventure can fly-fish, trek across a glacier, watch the majesty and grace of whale breaching the waters from a kayak or simply enjoy the passing beauty from the comfort of Silver Shadow’s deck. For all land and activity programmes, deluxe accommodation, transportation and transfers as well as tour guides and meals are included in the price.

Silver Shadow's accommodation is warm and inviting, expertly designed with signature Silversea suite amenities. Every suite offers a personal view of sea and sky, and 80% are complemented with furnished teak verandas, the perfect venue for breakfast while watching the next port approach closer into view.

Ship facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, two whirlpools, library with books and DVDs, beauty salon and fitness centre, computers with internet and boutiques. Silver Shadow also offers a variety of dining options including The Restaurant,  the indoor/outdoor Terrace Cafe, a Poolside Grille, the fine dining Le Champagne, plus 24-hour in-suite dining. For entertainment, there is also the casino, card room, bar, and observation lounge.

Every Silversea cruise also features regionally specific lectures by noted historians, ambassadors, state leaders, authors and geographers — all experts and each sharing special insights into areas of the world they know intimately.
