Richard Martin Saul has been appointed General Manager of the JW Marriott Jakarta Hotel, replacing
Greg Allan who has taken up a new assignment in the Singapore Marriott Hotel.
Richard was most recently General Manager (GM) of the 860-room Renaissance Harbour View Hotel
in Hong Kong.
Richard’s hotel experience began in Australia. Prior to joining Marriott he worked for Regent, Hyatt,
and Pan Pacific. He joined Marriott at the Renaissance Inya Lake Hotel in Myanmar and was later
promoted to GM of the Renaissance Palm Garden Hotel in Malaysia. In 2000 he became GM of
Marriott’s Courtyard Surfer’s Paradise Resort and then moved to the Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai
Richard has won various Marriott awards including Rookie GM of the Year, Courtyard GM of the Year
and the 2006 Renaissance Hotel of the Year.
