Travel News Asia Friday, 9 June 2006

With Sheratons new summer package for the Middle East, visitors to Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be able to enjoy one of the regions largest festivals, Dubai Summer Surprises, with special accommodation offers at three hotels.

Taking place from 21st June to 1st September, the Dubai Summer Surprises festival is a 10 week extravaganza where visitors are encouraged to take advantage of massive discounts in the shops (over seven million shoppers will purchase a range of different goods) and enjoy a wide variety of entertainment; including live shows, activities, competitions and courses for the whole family. The 2006 event is divided up into ten weeks of separate themes, including Food, Ice, Art, Nature and Adventure Surprises, each of which are arranged by government departments in association with shopping malls, hotels and sponsoring companies.

To help celebrate, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Middle East has created a package offering guests a variety of luxury accommodation options whilst experiencing all that Dubai Summer Surprises has to offer. Families visiting this summer can now stay at three of the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts' properties in Dubai and Abu Dhabi at very special and affordable rates. The Sheraton la carte package includes two nights accommodation in each of the three Sheraton properties; the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers and the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort & Towers.

The Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, located minutes from Deira City Centre and Dubais shopping hub, is a world-class property combining luxury with modern style. The hotel offers a wide array of amenities including three restaurants (Indian, Italian and Japanese), as well as full leisure facilities, including swimming pool, tennis courts, gymnasium, massage treatments and sauna.

The Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers is located on the white sands of Dubai, surrounded by tropical palm-fringed gardens. The resort offers a host of recreational facilities, including Health and Beach Club, freshwater temperature-controlled swimming pool, squash courts, Aqua Senses Wellness Centre and Spa, a childrens club, beach volleyball and mini football court as well as a range of leading restaurants and bars.

The Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort & Towers has 272 rooms all overlooking the turquoise clear water of the Persian Gulf. The 10 restaurants in the resort offer various authentic dining experiences, including Asian fusion, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, British and a Mediterranean seafood restaurant Il Paradiso. The hotel features a private bay with white sand beaches, three swimming pools, waterslides, pool bar and childrens club. Guests can enjoy massages, the Jacuzzi, sauna or a traditional Moroccan Hammam. Deep-sea fishing, a gymnasium, fitness classes, tennis and squash courts are also available for sports enthusiasts.

Prices for the la carte package start from 358 per person per night for six nights accommodation, including breakfast, based on two people sharing. Guests must stay a minimum of two nights at each of the three hotels stated above. The special package price includes all applicable taxes and is valid until 31 August 2006.
