The
JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa in cooperation with the Tri-Ballistic Triathlon Club Phuket organized its first Triathlon for Kids recently. The idea
behind the project is to promote children’s sports activities as well as develop and build the relationship between the expatriate and local
community in Phuket.
Over fifty children between the ages of six to fourteen attended the event which is integrated into the Marriott Spirit to Serve Program. The race
started with a 200 meter ocean swim, followed by a 6 kilometer bike ride around the Prujae San Lake at the Sirinath National Park, and concluded
with a 1.5 km run around the resort to the finish line. All of the kids who crossed the finish line were the winners of the day. Parents and friends were
spread around the triathlon route to give the children support and cheer them on.
The next Tri–Ballistic event will take place on Sunday 26th, March 2006 at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa and will be specially designed for teams
of family and friends.
