Sven-Goran Eriksson invests in Luxury Residential Resort Property in Thailand

Renowned international football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson was a celebrity guest at a Bangkok briefing today to announce the launch of a new luxury residential development in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Peregrina Bay in Laem Set, Maret, on the island of Koh Samui, is a new luxury low-rise residential development with two beach front villas, four garden and ocean view villas and six duplex condominiums, located in a secluded beach position on the south eastern side of the island.

“In-demand resort destinations such as Phuket and Koh Samui really continue to retain the mantle of the Hawaii’s of Asia, as the Thai resort markets have little realistic competition regionally,” said Mr. Robert Collins, Managing Director of Agency & Investment Services, Savills (Thailand) Ltd.

The Koh Samui property market continues to perform very well following new zoning regulations for real estate and seeks to control new types of development across the island in an effort to preserve the islands natural environment and to curb excessive property development.

The authorities attention to ensuring land use laws are strictly observed is expected to greatly help the market limit new speculative development and is anticipated to lead to a more mature property market following significant capital value appreciation for both land and completed properties during the past few years.

“We are seeing strong levels of demand in the luxury residential market in the region and Thailand in particular,” said Mr Collins. “Secluded and aesthetically placed property has always been attractive, but discerning buyers are now looking in particular for value-added services including professionally managed developments. One of the early, high-profile, owners at Peregina Bay is the renowned international football manager and former England national team coach Mr. Sven-Goran Eriksson.
