Christophe Lajus joins Crowne Plaza Fudan Shanghai as GM

Mr. Christophe Lajus has been appointed as the General Manager of the new Crowne Plaza Fudan Shanghai which opened on 12 June 2006.

Lajus, a French national, began his hospitality career in 1985 in Switzerland where he studied for his Diploma in Hotel Business Administration at L’Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. He then went onto work in Spain, Morocco, then to the Caribbean Islands including General Manger at the Cotton House on Mustique Island before returning to Cannes in his home country of France.

He came to Asia in 1994 as the pre-opening General Manager at the new and luxurious Banyan Tree Bintan Resort in Indonesia and completed the opening stage and established the resort on the island of Bintan. Lajus then moved to China to become General Manager of the Sichuan Huayuan Garden City Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. He joined Intercontinental Hotels Group in October 2000 as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Tian Wuhan, where during his time he was awarded in May 2001 the “Labour Award” by the Wuhan City Union and in January 2002 the “Huanghe Friendship Award” by the Wuhan Government. His most recent position was General Manager of the Holiday Inn Resort Yalong Bay Sanya where he had been since December 2002. Whilst at Sanya the hotel was honored to be selected as the winner for the “Employee Engagement Award 2005” also the “Holiday Inn the Best Mid- market Hotel Brand in Asia-Pacific and the World” by Inter-Continental Hotels Group.
