Air France and KLM combine Internet Check-In Service

Travel News Asia Friday, 7 April 2006

Air France and KLM customers have, since April 4, 2006, been able to check in online for flights to almost all destinations in the combined network of both airlines.

Holders of an e-ticket can choose a seat and print a boarding pass from home or at the office. On arrival at the airport, they can deposit their baggage at one of the dedicated baggage drop-off points, or head straight for the boarding lounge.

By checking in online and printing their boarding passes from home, Air France and KLM customers will save time and enjoy more comfort.

Passengers can check in online between 30 hours and 1 hour prior to departure. In some cases (for KLM flights to the US and for flights operated by Northwest Airlines from Amsterdam, Rome, Frankfurt and Mumbai), Internet check in is possible between 24 hours and 1 hour prior to departure. Travelers can check in for their flight online, select a seat and print a boarding pass. After checking in, passengers traveling with hold baggage can head straight to the dedicated baggage drop off points at the airports.

At the start of this month, no less than 76% of all the tickets sold by KLM were e-tickets.
