Boeing appoints Henryka Bochniarz as president of Boeing Central and Eastern Europe

Boeing has appointed Henryka Bochniarz as president of Boeing Central and Eastern Europe. She will represent the company's business interests and coordinate business activities in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. She will be based in the Boeing office in Warsaw, Poland.

"The appointment of Henryka Bochniarz is part of our strategy to expand globally and elevate our presence in the Central and Eastern European region," said Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Jim McNerney. "Henryka will develop and implement an integrated company-wide strategy that will focus on business-growth opportunities in this important market."

Bochniarz, 57, has been president of the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan since 1999. She is vice-chairman of the Tripartite Commission for Social and Economic Issues and of the Committee of Good Practices in Poland. Bochniarz also serves as a member of the Council of UNICE Presidents, the largest employer organization in the European Union.

Sales, marketing and supplier-management responsibilities for the region will remain with the company business units - Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. Bochniarz will support the company's sales and business development teams as campaigns are conducted across the region.

Born in 1949, Bochniarz grew up in Swiebozin, Poland. She graduated from the Foreign Trade Faculty at the Main School of Planning and Statistics (SGH) in Warsaw and holds a PhD in economics. A Fulbright scholar who served as a lecturer at the University of Minnesota from 1985 to 1987. Bochniarz is married and has two children.
