Search ASIA Travel Tips .com Tuesday, 6 June 2006

China Airlines is to launch a new Taipei-Osaka cargo service on July 4, with two flights per week, using an advanced B747-400F freighter. Following the launch of the new flight, China Airlines will provide direct cargo services to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

For the new Taipei-Osaka cargo service, flight CI 5702 will depart every Tuesday and Thursday at 16:00 from Taipei, and arrive in Osaka at 19:30. Return flight CI 5701 will leave Osaka the same day at 21:30 and arrive in Taipei at 23:10.

Located in the Osaka-Kobe industrial zone, one of the three largest industrial zones in Japan, Osaka is Japan's second most important city in terms of air transportation. Steel, shipbuilding, chemical and machinery industries all flourish in Osaka, making its industrial output second only to Tokyo, in all of Japan.

After inaugurating the new cargo route, China Airlines will be able to provide a more extensive cargo network between Taiwan and Japan. As of July 4, China Airlines will provide a total of five cargo flights per week to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. In addition to serving the cargo routes between Taiwan and Japan, China Airlines will use its extensive long-haul capacity to attract trans-shipment cargo from Japan, for onward to Europe, America and Southeast Asia.
