These include a Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts hotel in Germany; four Radisson Hotels & Resorts properties in the U.S.; four Country Inns & Suites By Carlson hotels in the U.S.; one new Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts in the U.S.; and two Park Inn properties in Austria and the U.K. The new additions bring Carlson’s global portfolio to 932 hotels with 147,097 rooms in 70 countries. At this point of the second quarter, our company’s development numbers are exceeding our expectations as we continue to open hotels in key business and leisure travel markets throughout the U.S. and around the world,” said Sam Winterbottom, executive vice president of Development. “I am pleased with the progress our global development team continues to make, and anticipate that our momentum will continue as we approach the mid-way point of the year.”

Country Inns & Suites By Carlson

Four new properties joined the Country Inns & Suites brand in April. They include the 64-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Oxford, Ala., which is owned by Dharti Hospitality, LLC, and the 65-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-Wilder in Kentucky owned by Bob Buten. In addition, the brand welcomed the 57-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in North Charleston, S.C., owned by Rick Patel; and the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-El Dorado in Ark., which is owned by Ila Patel and has 71-rooms. All of the new hotels feature traditional brand design elements, including hard wood floors and fire place in the grand lobby. These new additions bring Country Inns & Suites’ global hotel and room count totals to 383 and 30,581, respectively.

Radisson SAS/Radisson Hotels & Resorts

The newest hotel welcomed into the Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts portfolio is the Radisson SAS Hotel in Leipzig, Germany. This 214-room hotel was recently renovated, and features 13 junior suites. The four other new Radisson-branded hotels are located in the U.S. Two of these are in Fort Worth, Texas – the 247-room Radisson Hotel Fort Worth North and the Radisson Hotel Fort Worth South, featuring 188 guestrooms, which are owned by North and South Fort Worth Hotel Ventures, L.P. Other new properties include the 246-room Radisson Hotel Chicago O’Hare in Des Plaines, Ill., owned by Southern Exposure L.P., and the 238-room Radisson Hotel Columbia & Conference Center in South Carolina, owned by Columbia Hotel & Conference Center, LLC. The first new property to join the brand in April was the 136-room Park Inn Uno City in Vienna, Austria. This hotel is located on the banks of the Danube next to the city’s convention center and the United Nations’ complex. The other new hotel, the Park Inn York in England, features 200 guestrooms and is nestled in the heart of the city on the River Ouse. Both of these properties were added by Carlson’s European partner, Rezidor SAS Hospitality.

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts

The new 166-room Park Plaza Hotel Lancaster in Pennsylvania, owned by York Sherwood Associates, L.P., joined the brand in April. The hotel is conveniently located near Lancaster, Harrisburg and Hershey, and is serviced by the Harrisburg International Airport 30 miles from the property.
