Travel News Asia Thursday, 6 April 2006

Qantas is to commence weekly ski season services between Melbourne and Queenstown from 9 July 2006.

"These additional services reflect the increasing popularity of Queenstown and its surrounding ski fields for Australian tourists," Qantas Group General Manager Sales and Distribution, Mr Rob Gurney said.

"Qantas has served Queenstown since 2002 when we began weekly ski season services from both Sydney and Brisbane. Our flights from Sydney were expanded to three times a week during the ski season in 2005.

The new services will increase ski season capacity by 25% for travel between Australia and Queenstown.

The weekly services will operate on Sundays for 12 weeks as follows:

Melbourne-Queenstown
Depart 7.10am - Arrive 12.15pm
Queenstown-Melbourne
Depart 1.10pm - Arrive 2.35pm
