China Airlines launches New Cargo Service to Stockholm

Travel News Asia Wednesday, 6 December 2006

China Airlines today inaugurates a new Taipei-Stockholm cargo service, extending its cargo services further into northern Europe.

The new routing of Taipei-Abu Dhabi-Luxembourg-Stockholm-Abu Dhabi-Bangkok-Taipei (CI5413/5414) will use B747-400 freighter to provide two weekly services. The Wednesday, Stockholm bound service will depart Taipei at 03:40, and arrive in Stockholm at 19:25 the same day. The return flight will depart Stockholm at 21:55 the same day and arrive in Taipei at 22:35 the following day. On Saturday, the Stockholm bound service departs Taipei at 04:50 and arrives in Stockholm at 20:35 the same day. The return flight leaves Stockholm at 23:05 and arrives in Taipei at 00:15 on Monday.

Due to the rapid economic development in Asia, regional demand for infrastructure such as communications and electronics equipment, and automobiles, has increased. The nations in northern Europe, which excel in these industries with famous brands such as Sony Ericsson, Volvo, IKEA in Sweden and Nokia in Finland, all have strong potential for air cargo growth. Located in the center of northern Europe, Stockholm is the air transport gateway to Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark, and it also serves the Baltic Sea region. China Airlines will develop Stockholm into its regional hub in northern Europe, which can save land trans-shipment time and costs, while also improving service quality and efficiency.
