New shuttle bus service launched between Clarke Quay and Sentosa Island

Singapore Airlines, together with Clarke Quay and Sentosa, has launched a new shuttle service between Clarke Quay and Sentosa Island in a “new-look” SIA Hop-on bus.

With this new route, Singapore Airlines customers can now see even more of Singapore as the SIA Hop-on bus extends its network beyond the main island to bring visitors from the entertainment hub at the banks of the Singapore River to the leisure and recreational facilities in the popular island resort.

“Our partnership with Singapore Airlines brings greater synergies in promoting Sentosa as a leisure destination” said Darrell Metzger, Chief Executive Officer of Sentosa Leisure Group. “Tapping into their Singapore Stopover Holiday programme which sees some 200,000 passengers annually, we will be able to reach out to international transit visitors and hopefully entice them to return for a longer visit another time soon. With this direct Hop-on service, tourists will be able to sample the charms of Singapore – from a city setting to a resort getaway – mere minutes away.”

SIA Hop-on buses on the city loop operate daily from 9 am to 7.30 pm at 30-minute intervals while the Clarke Quay - Sentosa service operates daily from 10am to 6 pm every hour on the hour. Visitors on SIA Singapore Stopover Holiday travel for free, Singapore Airlines and SilkAir passengers will be charged Sin$ 3 for an unlimited day pass. Fares for other visitors are Sin$ 12 for adults and Sin$ 6 for children. Tickets can be purchased on board the bus.

First introduced in 1999, SIA Hop-on bus offers visitors unlimited air-conditioned rides to major attractions in Singapore. The city service calls at 21 of the most popular attractions located with in the shopping, dining, cultural and entertainment areas. They include Raffles City, Singapore Botanic Gardens and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Chinatown, Little India and Arab Street.

The SIA Hop-on bus Clarke Quay – Sentosa route will be in addition to the existing city route.
