COMO Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri opens New Retreat Villas

Travel News Asia Thursday, 5 October 2006

The COMO Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri has now opened its new Retreat Villas, ‘Taramala’ (‘Garland of Stars’) and ‘Vasudhara’ (‘Mother Earth’). Both feature private therapy rooms and personal pools. The three new Garden Villas also have pools. These two-storied accommodations boast exceptional space and views, featuring sleek, modern, cream and white interiors. This is in addition to the refurbished Residences, each with four or five suites and a large swimming pool. All are uniquely appointed, and inspired by the indigenous landscape and architecture of Indonesia. Other facilities include a new yoga pavilion, a Jungle Gym, Pilates studio, climbing wall and tennis court.

The COMO Shambhala Estate is located on the banks of the river Ayung, and exudes a powerful sense of peace and serenity.

The resident health team includes a nutritionist, naturopath, yoga and Pilates teacher, a fitness trainer, iridologist, counselling psychologist and Ayurvedic doctor. This is in addition to Visiting Masters who lead retreat weeks, from yoga to meditation, and a Board of Directors, including Donna Karan and Dr Robert Thurman, who help ensure the integrity of COMO Shambhala’s path.
