Jetstar takes off on Singapore - Darwin - Cairns route

Jetstar has launched daily services between Australia and Singapore officially taking over the Qantas Group operations on the Singapore – Darwin – Cairns route.

The daily A320 return service has replaced the Qantas service operating 5 times weekly and boosts Qantas Group seat capacity on the route by almost 10%

Jetstar’s Australian operations will take responsibility for marketing the services and utilise existing traffic rights. Qantas will codeshare on all flights.

This offers Qantas Codeshare customers a ground and inflight product that includes through passenger check-in and baggage interlining to Qantas domestic and international flights, a complimentary hot meal and full bar service.

Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce said Jetstar’s growth onto the Singapore-Darwin-Cairns route follows the consolidation and alignment of Jetstar’s branding and sales distribution for both carriers’ operations since July.

“Jetstar will fly directly into Darwin and one stop to Cairns through a return daily service from Singapore. We believe that greatly enhances the ability for tourism providers across northern Australia to attract more international visitors to our shores, supported by our low fares.” Mr Joyce said.

“All ticketing for Jetstar services from Australia to Singapore will only be sold to international outbound passengers.”

Video on demand units will be available on these services at a cost of A$10 per passenger.

All Qantas Club members flying Jetstar will have access to Qantas operated lounges where available at international airports. At Darwin International Airport, international departing passengers can use the domestic Qantas Club lounge.
