Emirates unveils Special Dubai Shopping Festival Packages

Dubai’s annual shopping and entertainment extravaganza, the Dubai Shopping Festival, is around the corner once again and Emirates, key sponsor and official carrier for the 11th time running, is offering special hotel packages for visitors from around the world during the extravaganza.

The packages, valid from 20th December 2006 until 2nd February 2007, start from as little as US$66 per person per night on a twin sharing basis and provide customers with a choice of accommodation from a range of 18 select properties.

The packages must be booked for a minimum of three nights and carry the option to extend. The price includes breakfast, transfers between Dubai International Airport and the hotel by chauffeur-driven car and personalised meet-and-assist upon arrival.

The Dubai Shopping Festival, initially conceived as a pure retail event, has evolved over the years into a comprehensive tourism product.

The airline’s packages are designed to take care of the customer’s every need from the moment they disembark at Dubai International Airport where they receive personalised meet-and-assist, an Arabian Adventures Welcome pack. First and Business Class passengers can even avail of a free chauffeur drive from the Dubai International airport to the hotel of one's choice.

Departure is facilitated with an additional 10 kg free baggage allowance on return/onward flights from Dubai. For onward-bound passengers, stopover charges are waived.

Commenting on the airline's continued support for the festival, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said, “Every year the Dubai Shopping Festival lives up to its promise of staging the most exciting activities for visitors. Emirates' supports the festival as part of the airline’s mission to promote Dubai world-wide as a tourist destination.

“We have succeeded in raising the profile of the event worldwide with our global promotional activities and the rising number of tourists we fly in to Dubai every year to witness this month-long festival is proof that our value-for-money packages are a great hit with our customers.”

The DSF 2006 packages are available to all Emirates passengers, regardless of class of travel.

The DSF has over the years grown phenomenally to become the biggest shopping festival in the world. Apart from incredible shopping bargains, the event hosts the world’s biggest gold raffle, the world’s richest luxury car raffle and many other opportunities to win fantastic prizes. The entire city takes on a carnival-like atmosphere during this time, with plenty of entertainment and activities for the entire family.

The Global Village, the biggest draw during DSF, will remain open for two and half months till 31st March.
