Travel News Asia Tuesday, 28 November 2006

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has confirmed that Ms Clara Chong, Executive Director of the HKTB, will not seek for contract renewal after completion of her second three-year contract in March 2007. Meanwhile, Ms Chong will continue to oversee the work of the HKTB, and all existing and planned activities and promotional programmes will be implemented as scheduled.

Paying tribute to Ms Chong, HKTB Chairman The Hon Mrs Selina Chow, GBS, OBE, JP said that she has made invaluable contribution to the HKTB and Hong Kong’s tourism industry. “Over the past six years, Clara has exemplified great commitment, dedication and professionalism in leading the organisation through many important projects,” Ms Chong remarked. “I’m sure the Board will share with me heartfelt appreciation for the work that Clara has done.”

A search will now be conducted for Ms Chong’s replacement by a recruitment committee in accordance with the HKTB established recruitment policies and procedures.

Ms Clara Chong joined the HKTB in March 2001.
