Dutch based technology provider LOG ON is the winner of this year’s EIBTM WorldWide Technology Watch (WWTW) competition judged earlier this month in London. The winner receives a free stand to exhibit in the MPI Technology Village @ EIBTM for 2006 in Barcelona.

LOG ON’s Mobile Event Assistant service enables Meeting Planners to:

· Provide more value to event participants by meeting their needs for information, communication and interaction through their own mobile phone

· Generate additional sponsorship revenue through mobile advertising

· Reduce operational costs by reducing staff numbers and printed information sources

· Measure participant preferences through service usage statistics and by capturing participant feedback

Johan Bax, Director of LOG ON, said, “ We are extremely happy to have won the EIBTM WorldWide Technology Watch competition this year and to know our product has been recognised by the industry. We are looking forward to presenting our product during EIBTM so all meeting and event planners can see its capabilities. Today approximately 30% of Europe is using mobile Internet applications – this percentage is expected to rise in the future so we are delighted to be at the forefront of this technology in the meetings industry!”

Runners up this year are:

- Teleportec with the Teleportec Lectern that enables a speaker from anywhere in the world to appear before an audience in an apparent 3-D image.

- Conference Archives, Inc who provides innovative solutions for capturing event content, and distributing the resulting media-rich archives on its industry-leading content delivery platform, ConferenceOnDemand˙(CoD).

- Newmarket International presenting MeetingBroker a web based information service that receives electronic Requests For Proposals (eRFPs) sent by meeting planners and provides hospitality professionals the online tools to respond more quickly to these eRFPs.

- Validar Corporation and the Full Measure for AppExchange: fully integrated PC and Pocket PC lead retrieval application that enables exhibitors to rank and categorise leads at tradeshows.

This year, the judging was once again Chaired by Corbin Ball, CMP, Corbin Ball Associates, assisted by:

· Martin Sirk, CEO, ICCA
· Didier Scaillet, Director for European Operations, MPI
· Paul Hussey, Managing Director, Olive 360

Judging scores were weighted by the following criteria: 40% for Innovation/Uniqueness, 30% for Impact to the Meetings Industry and 30% for Completeness of the concept.

A total of 27 entries were received including some from France, UK, USA, Australia, Switzerland, Canada and Belgium.

Corbin Ball, CMP, Corbin Ball Associates, commented: “Events technology innovation is alive and well. This year’s Worldwide Technology Watch yielded a wide and varied selection of strong candidates. This year’s winner, LOG ON, and the runners up are indicative of important technology trends including mobile technology, advanced video conference technology, data exchange standards, advanced lead management techniques, and better ways of recording/archiving meetings. It was a privilege and an honour to chair the judging and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the applicants and to the judging committee.”

The EIBTM 2006 WorldWide Technology Watch Winner Presentation will take place on Wednesday 29th November at 1430-1455, immediately after this year’s live technology debate during EIBTM, Room 3.2 (Upstairs Conference Room).
