Life Resorts launches Wellness Seminars in Vietnam

After rebranding the resort to emphasize its holistic mission earlier this year, the Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon has inaugurated a series of wellness seminars led by North American instructors in tai chi, yoga and Pilates.

Through August, Liz Wesley and Dorothy Guerra, will conduct workshops on practices that fuse tai chi and yoga and that employ strategically developed questions to connect mind, body and soul during Pilates.

“Quy Nhon is an idyllic setting for these seminars,” said Chris Duffy, the resort’s general manager. “Its pristine location and removal from the well-traveled north-south route through Vietnam enhance a guest’s ability to defuse stress and achieve a kind of rarified calm.”

The wellness seminars will take place in the resort’s 3,000-square-meter landscaped garden, overlooking a curvaceous coastline and an exquisite stretch of private beach. In this natural garden, five outdoor treatment bungalows, three indoor treatment suites, a meditation terrace and several outdoor rock pools succor a guest’s goal to completely unwind and relax.

The resort’s Life Art program and Life Cuisine complement the spa’s commitment to wellness.

“On the wider world stage, Vietnam has yet to develop a reputation as a place of healing and wellness,” said Duffy. “We’re trying to change that, one resort at a time.”

Life Resorts currently manages two properties in Vietnam. Inspired by Cham architecture, the 63-room Quy Nhon resort is a hideaway boutique resort on the south central coast. The 94-room Life Heritage Resort Hoi An evokes the colonial splendor of a bygone era on a quiet stretch of the Thu Bon River, within walking distance of the old trading port’s world-famous downtown.

Life Resorts is currently developing a number of other properties in Vietnam, each as a celebration of local architecture, aesthetics and cuisine.

On July 20, the Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon learned it had been nominated as a finalist for the Best Destination Spa in the 2006 SpaAsia Crystal Awards. The Quy Nhon resort was the only nominee from Vietnam; the other seven nominees include a Hilton in China, the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong and the Chiva-Som in Thailand.
